Ten years ago Complexity Gaming signed a group of brazilians to represent the organization in CS 1.6. The team would only win a IEM event, but would not get much more glories. Curious thing is, everyone on that team is still active in CS:GO, and two of them are two-time champions.

FalleN, FNX, bit1, nak e Bruno Ono represent a kind of gamble that Complexity still does to this day, to renew itself and look for people with good work ethics and that are not exactly the most talked about players. Although things are different in these ten years.

“Working with our Brazilian squad was an honor. Although they were much younger, FalleN and the crew were very talented and work very hard. Of course, CS:GO contracts have increased a great deal, and the entire industry has matured and is in a better place. I think this is wonderful for great player from Brazil, who deserve to be paid fairly for following their dreams with hard work and dedication”.

Jason Lake’s words also reafirm the motivation behind the investment in reformulating the new Complexity, having released most of its roster approximately one year ago and starting almost from scrath, after a now famous tweet inside the community.

The result was that they signed european players such as BlameF and k0nfig, as well as the awper poizon, a young player from Bulgaria who impressed everyone at that years Major cicle, keeping the young canadian, oBo, who’s 17 years old.

“I believe a team needs a mix of wise veterans and young up-and-coming prospects. The older, more experienced players can help teach the younger ones, and the younger ones bring motivation, hunger and passion. The mental side is also incredibly importante. Teammates must be humble and teachable. Egos and pride can destroy teams very quicly. Maturity and patience with teammates is very importante. If you can build these things into a squad, then greatness is always possible”.

The reason Jason and Complexity invest so much into CS is a notorious pation for the game. He’s the type of CEO that can be seen screaming from the audience at the biggest events, and that makes appearences at fancams during tournaments, giving us moving images, such as what we had after Complexity won BLAST Premier: Spring in june of 2020.

“I think each top esport is special in its own way, but CS:GO is my favorite. The simple drama of 5 vs. 5 with hero moments and incredible storylines have made CS a top esport for nearly 20 years. It’s easy to understand and enjoy but incredibly difficult to master. I definitely believe CS:GO is one of the greatest esports in history.”

Brazil has great love for Complexity, suggesting names when the organization announced its changes. Many cheer the organization still greatful for the time brazilians played there.

“The fans from Brazil have been so incredibly kind to me; it’s difficult to express my sincere appreciation. I’m always surprised and humbled by how amazing the fans are to me and to Complexity. I send my love and respect to the fans of Brazil. Thank you veru much for always supporting me. I appreciate it from my heart. Viva Brasil!”
